Curious Cubs — Foundations introduces young minds to the fundamentals of logic, problem-solving, and computational thinking through hands-on games and interactive story-driven adventures.
Before touching any equipment, children explore how instructions work "behind the scenes" through unplugged floor games and physical maze design.
Kids program screen-free robots to navigate obstacle courses, discover how smart machines recognize visual patterns, and design their own physical board games.
Along the way, they build fine motor skills, teamwork, and confidence with technology.
- Hands-Off Logic & Unplugged Thinking: Children begin each topic away from tech. Using physical story mats, oversized command cards, and role-play, they discover how computers follow human instructions step-by-step. Kids learn the core difference between regular toys and smart machines.
- Game Design & Screen-Free Robotics: Students learn game mechanics by creating physical board games with rules, start/finish paths, and obstacles. They bring these games to life using screen-free robots (such as Sphero indi and Botley), using color tiles and direction buttons to program movements.
- AI & Digital Life Skills: Children explore early AI concepts through fun shape- and pattern-matching games, learning how smart devices "see" patterns in the world. Digital life skills focus on building healthy screen habits and respecting technology.
- Twice-Yearly Parent Showcases: Twice per year (mid-year and end-of-year), parents are invited to a special showcase. Children proudly demonstrate their physical game mazes, explain their robot's path, and practice early public speaking and communication skills.
- Added Value for Your Child: Fosters logical resilience, spatial awareness, and cooperative social skills in a safe, screen-free learning environment.
Practical Information
- Ages: 4–5
- Group size: up to 12 children
- Session Duration: 2 hours per weekly Sunday lesson.
- Prerequisites: None — suitable for first-time learners.
- Technology Used: Screen-free robots (Sphero indi, Botley), tactile coding tiles, physical game mats, unplugged logic puzzles.
- Class Structure: Small interactive groups with a high instructor-to-student ratio.
- Showcases: Includes mid-year and end-of-year parent presentation sessions.
