Joan (Jo) Schmitt

After a 15-year career in the Horeca industry, with different functions in different locations (in France, Belgium and Luxembourg), I had the joy of becoming a Dad. This event sealed my ideas for professional change. Accompanying my boy in his first steps, I realized that the support sector interested me. In September 2017, I registered for the Specialized Educator training at the IPFS in Namur. In November 2017, I started an internship at Sunflower Montessori. A few months pass and I am involved in this company which allowed me to discover myself as an educator. Three years later, I graduated with distinction 🎓🎓. Today I flourish as an educator in the Maison Relais of an international school, with an eclectic and competent team. My employer arcus asbl as well as my superiors encourage me to improve and train myself to be ever more competent and able to take on new educational challenges. At the same time, I continue to train myself in new skills, notably with the non-profit organization Kidslifeskills which encourages children to understand and develop knowledge in the field of coding, programming and robotics.
