Coding Instructor

Are you a developer or a professional with coding experience who loves getting kids excited about computer programming? Then join us at Kids Life Skills to lead coding classes for children ages 4-10! This is a fun, paid part-time position that you can do in your free time.

 

Your profile:

  • You communicate easily with children

  • You enjoy teaching and helping others understand new concepts

  • Ideally, you have some previous experience working with children (tutoring, summer camp leader, Scouts, etc.)

  • You have a technical background in computer programming

  • You speak English. Fluency in Luxembourgish, French, Portuguese, German or another commonly spoken language in Luxembourg is an advantage

The job:

  • You will lead classes for ages 4-6 and 7-10, using different materials and hands-on activities to teach the basic concepts of logic and algorithms before moving on to programming robots and then computer coding with Scratch and similar programmes

  • You will have the support of a student coach to keep the children engaged during lessons

  • You will build lesson plans and course curriculums, and adjust as necessary

  • You will report on the attendance and progress of the children, and provide feedback to parents

 

Practical Details:

  • Part-time contract at 30-40 euros/hour

  • You should be able to commit to coaching at least 2 classes per week, for at least 1 year (Sep-June)

  • You will receive 3-4 training sessions before starting work, as well as a monthly training session

  • Classes are currently scheduled on Sundays, but in the future may also take place on Saturdays, Sundays and weekday afternoons – according to your schedule

  • Classes take place in Luxembourg City.

Coding Coach

We’re looking for several coding coaches to support our instructors during our computer coding classes for children ages 4-10. This is a fun, paid part-time position perfect for an IT enthusiast!

 

Your profile:

  • You communicate easily with children

  • You enjoy teaching and helping others understand new concepts

  • You have some experience with IT or coding 

  • You are over the age of 16

  • You speak English well. Fluency in Luxembourgish, French, Portuguese, German or another commonly spoken language in Luxembourg is an advantage

The job:

  • You will provide support to our instructors during their coding classes, to ensure all the children are engaged and enjoying the activities

  • You will support the children’s self-guided learning during practice hours

  • You will also have the opportunity to train to become a class instructor if interested

  • ​You will receive training before starting to work as well as a monthly training session

 

Practical details:

  • Part-time contract at 20 euros/hour

  • You should be able to commit to coaching at least 1 class per week, for at least 1 semester (4 months)

  • Classes are currently scheduled on Sundays, but in the future may also take place on Saturdays and weekday afternoons - you can choose when you will teach according to your schedule

  • Classes take place in Luxembourg City
