Coding Leaders — Next Gen AI & Projects challenges students to engineer complex games, autonomous robotics systems, and applied AI applications.
Before writing code, kids learn professional system design—planning game mechanics, drafting logic state diagrams, and studying how game studios balance user experience.
Students build multi-level Scratch 3.0 and MakeCode Arcade retro games featuring custom physics, gravity, and sprite cloning.
They program advanced robotics for multi-machine communication, integrate generative AI for game asset design, and evaluate AI ethics and deepfakes.
- Hands-Off Logic & System Architecture: Students study game studio practices. They design state machines, plan physics calculations (gravity, velocity), and map out complex code architectures before implementation.
- Advanced Game Engineering & Hardware: Kids code advanced Scratch games and retro arcade games in MakeCode Arcade using sprite cloning, custom blocks, and multi-screen logic. They program Sphero RVR/Rover and Sphero BOLT for multi-robot messaging and obstacle navigation.
- Applied AI, Generative Design & Ethics: Students use safe AI tools to generate custom game art and audio, train multi-class machine learning models, and analyze AI ethics, prompt engineering, and deepfake identification.
- Twice-Yearly Parent Showcases: The semester features mid-year and end-of-year presentation events where students pitch their game capstones, walk parents through their source code, and demonstrate their AI tools.
- Added Value for Your Child: Fosters technical independence, project management discipline, and public presentation mastery.
Practical Information
- Ages: 8–10
- Group size: up to 12 children
- Session Duration: 3 hours per weekly Sunday lesson.
- Prerequisites: Completion of Coding Leaders Foundations or strong Scratch coding background.
- Technology Used: MIT Scratch 3.0, MakeCode Arcade, Sphero RVR/Rover, Sphero BOLT, ML4K, Generative AI tools.
- Class Structure: Studio lab environment with individual and team capstone projects.
- Showcases: Includes mid-year and end-of-year parent presentation sessions.
